About this deal

A twisty, domestic suspense debut about a clique of mothers that shatters when one of their own is murdered, bringing chaos to their curated lives. Lauren and Sean are the outliers to the neighborhood. Everyone has an opinion about them, none of which are good. Poor Laura desperately wants to fit in…but she just can’t help herself. I’m also confused by the first line of the Goodreads description: “A twisty, domestic suspense debut about a clique of mothers that shatters when one of their own is murdered, bringing chaos to their curated lives.” We already talked about the genre, but the death is also the end of the story. We don’t see any of the “chaos” brought into their lives, no police investigation, nor any fallout of the death at all.

Featuring ~ debut, 2 parts ~ then & now, dated chapters, infidelity, references to suicide, slow burn, verbal abuse Lauren Doyle is the local outcast. She's not one to follow any recent trend, and doesn't care what other people think of her, or her family. She's used to being the ostracized one, and the butt-end of everyone's jokes. Lauren doesn't have any friends, but she's okay with that because she loves her husband and her two beautiful children beyond measure. Then suddenly Lauren uncovers an incredible betrayal, now she's determined to stand up to those who have always bullied her once and for all...namely Ciara Dunphy. I don't doubt that this book will help a lot of people with ADHD, but for myself (diagnosed with ADHD) and my boyfriend (who wants to understand my diagnosis) this book was just a bit boring and repetitive. Finally, had to listen to the audiobook on 1.3x speed because they were narrating so slowly it was driving me mad. You can overcome challenges, ADHD makes certain tasks more difficult, not impossible. If the message of the book wasn't so forced on the "I-know-because-I-got-diagnoses" and filled with advice that is just really bad, I would not have cared either.I’m always apprehensive when I see the word ‘debut.’ Not now! Disha Bose wrote an unputdownable, suspenseful read that won’t stop racing through my mind! Mishti is in arranged marriage with Parth. Lauren is our bohemian mom and girlfriend to Sean. Ciara, our social media influencer (blah), is married to Gerry and is dead and we don't know why or whodunit until the end. I liked the mystery involving this, but not the why. What Didn't Work: Towards the end of the book, it became quite clear who was primarily responsible for the death Ciara. While Bose attempted to throw curveballs to distract readers from the responsible individual, it was pretty obvious. Additionally, Ciara isn't a likeable character. She does horrible things to the other characters and exhibits no remorse. When she does die, I can't say that I actually cared and I'm not sure whether that was Bose's intent or not. By creating such an unlikeable character, I ended up not caring about her death which almost led to me not caring about the book as I got closer to the end. I think it's a hard balance to the balance between keeping readers invested in the story and introducing unlikeable characters and centering the narrative around them. Then Ciara is found murdered in her own pristine home, and the house of cards she'd worked so hard to build comes crumbling down. Everyone seems to have something to gain from Ciara's death, so if they don't want the blame, it may be the perfect time to air their enemies' dirty laundry.

With deep dark secrets and twisted webs of lies, Dirty Laundry is everything I want in a book - Desperate Housewives in a small-town setting, each turn in the story even better than the last' Andrea Mara, All Her Fault

DIRTY LAUNDRY is an unfiltered look into the chaos of real life with ADHD. It will transform your self-hatred into self-acceptance, with simple tips that actually work for your brain. It will also help to educate partners, parents and friends, to help them move from frustration to patience, understanding - and love.

If you have ADHD - or love somebody who does - DIRTY LAUNDRY will change your life, and your relationships. I liked that the book is told from all the women's points of view and that there are then and now sections of the book. I found the story engaging and it held my interest throughout. I don't usually enjoy books where there is no one to root for but I liked this one. The ending was surprising if a little sad and I love books that can make me feel something. Three and a half stars rounded up.I've been following their social media for ages and always found it so funny and heart warming! So just bought the book to see if it is the same 😂 It is. Brakowało mi podkreślenia tego, jak ważna może być profesjonalna pomoc i z jakiegoś powodu nie było ANI SŁOWA o lekach. Ciara is the perfectly curated social media influencer with pristine children and a devoted clique of local mums; Lauren is the social outcast, judged for her free-spirited approach to parenting; Mishti, the most empathetically drawn of the three, is trapped in a loveless marriage far away from home. When one of them ends up murdered, the darker layers to their poisonous gossiping and societal performances are inevitably exposed. Real Housewives fans will devour this debut that simmers with discontent and deceit’ Liz Alterman, author of The Perfect Neighborhood

The plot here is good and I never mind a cast of unlikeable characters and these are highly unlikeable! A lot of envy, greed, selfishness and the pitfalls of social media are present. I thought the pacing was good and enjoyed the twist. Now one member of this neighborhood group has been found dead. You’ll find out who right away. But the storyline takes you deep into the inner-workings of the neighborhood to root out the guilty party and their motive. Enjoy the journey! Grr I couldn’t fight my way through this the book. As someone diagnosed with ADHD in my childhood (+10yrs ago) I found this book a bit condescending to neurodivergent people. There was also a few repeating references to TikTok; if I’m going to hear about the TikTok videos you watched or filmed I’d rather just be on the app. From the husband-and-wife team behind social media phenomenon @ADHD_Love, whose viral videos have been viewed more than 200 million times, comes a fearless, often outrageously funny, account of life, learning, and growing with ADHD. They share the strategies they have used to reduce shame, improve communication, and find happiness in their neurodivergent household. Ciara moves into a large house in an Irish town and has a friend Mishti.Lauren has returned to the town also. The women have families and different lifestyles, which they feud over. Everyone has a reason to hate Ciara, and all have problems of their own.Bose masterfully creates deeply drawn and utterly human characters in this powerful suspense debut Liv Constantine, The Last Mrs Parrish I have a feeling the author is struggling with something more than ADHD or maybe is on the extreme side of the spectrum. I had a hard time relating to many of the things mentioned and it really made me second guess my diagnosis.
