About this deal

Adding a layer of car wax to the paintwork is highly recommended as it helps to improve the paint’s finish and provides much-needed protection. Whether you wish to apply wax by hand or by polisher, all of our recommendations are more than ideal. They also provide 3 to 12 months of protection and are also suitable for all automotive paint finishes too. Given our vehicles are the second biggest investment most of us will ever make, there are no excuses for mistreating your motor and, with some of the biggest brands including Karcher, Autoglym, & Meguiars, there's no better time to make that investment. Quality car cleaning supplies It’s really easy to work with but do take caution to not apply too much wax, it can be a little difficult to applied too heavily.

Naturally, the higher the natural wax count, the better protection it will offer. However, don’t be fooled by manufacturers suggesting products feature 100% carnauba. Carnauba is hard, so you’d never be able to use the product if it was 100%. Instead, what they mean is that of the wax being used, it’s 100% natural carnauba wax. The rest of the product is made up of various oils and solvents. Add a few drops of wax to a microfibre cloth or pad and apply it to your car by working your way over the body panels in small, overlapping circular motions. That way, you get an even and full coating on your car. I can’t really comment on longevity but I’ve heard it is decent. However imo the only good thing about Bilt Hamber DSW is the microfibre cloth that is supplied with it. Ceramic wax is the next big thing in car wax. Proper ceramic waxing is best left to the experts thanks to the long curing time required, but it will leave a hard coating that can last for years. There are also hybrid ceramic options that blend synthetic wax with silicon dioxide ceramic to give you similar results that you can do yourself. Available as a paste, spray or liquid it won’t last as long as proper ceramic coating but it's far easier to apply. You can get yourself kitted out with a complete polishing kit, and for the enthusiasts, you can apply it with an oscillating polishing tool if you wish. Which car wax is best?A. Car wax should always be stored in a cool, dry place. Try to avoid storing the wax in direct sunlight and equally, try to avoid storing it in a location where it’s going to be exposed to extreme cold freezing temperatures. Double Speed-Wax provides an economic and superior alternative to costly paste waxes, and performance wise the pastes simply do not compete with Double Speed-Wax. There are a huge range of products available for protecting your car’s paintwork but which wax is the best and why? We take a look at the best waxes on the market and break down the differences between them.

Put simply, a wax offers a layer of protection between the paintwork and the dirt, grime and weather. This stops your paintwork from becoming damaged. Don’t mistake this for a paint protection film, stone chips will still arise with car wax. However, during your washes, it’ll fight against light scratches appearing on the paintwork. In contrast, synthetic waxes and sealants are much cheaper and last much longer. They’re often available in sprayable or liquid form so they’re easier to apply. However, they’re regarded as providing a slightly inferior finish to real wax. What form do waxes come in? Natural car waxes tend to last for a good six to eight weeks, while synthetic waxes and sealants can last longer – often for over three months. Don’t expect them to look as good, though. My dad has always looked after his cars but is of an age where he can't physically undertake a multi-stage detail wash to ensure the car is properly clean before applying the wax. So doing the best he could on a Silver Mercedes B Class and Blue Honda Civic, he noted the wax performed well but didn't last for very long - despite in some instances having applied 3 layers of wax per car! 2 to 3 weeks saw an almost complete degradation of performance. Work on shaded cool panels. Using the sponge applicator provided apply in light circular motions extremely sparingly and allow to dull for approx 5-10 minutes. Buff to a high shine using the blue microfibre provided - turn frequently.
